MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

Welcome to WesleyLearningCenter.  Each month a newsletter is sent home via e-mail so we can communicate with you about our program.  In it you will find information about upcoming events, changes in policies, and other tidbits of information that are important to you and your child.  Please take the time to read it.

Monthly communications from your child’s teachers will also be included in this e-mail.  Please print it out and keep it handy for the month.  All lesson plans, benchmarks, and schedules are posted outside your child’s classroom.  Please feel free to ask the teachers if you have any questions about what your child is working on during the week.  If you need further clarification, feel free to contact me.  My office hours are from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM  -  Mon, Tues, Wed, & Fri.  We hope this will help you have a better understanding of our curriculum.

Please  -  Do not send “go-gurts” (yogurt in a tube)

to school for lunch or snack.

I hope that your child is enjoying his or her time here at Wesley.  I’m sure that by now all of you are settled into a routine.  I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new families.

It is extremely important that you do not send in any foods containing peanuts, nuts, or nut products.

 TUITION CHECKS

Remember that tuition checks are due on the first day of the month that your child comes to school.  Please do not give them to the teachers.  There are black mailboxes, (one located in the upstairs foyer, the other downstairs, located on the wall by the cubbies) to be used to deposit your tuition checks.  A late fee of $25.00 will be assessed to your account, if tuition is not paid on time.  An additional $25.00 per week late fee will be charged until tuition is made current.  If you are unable to have the tuition to me on time, I will be more than happy to make suitable arrangements.

For All Visitors To Wesley:

All Parents and Visitors who will be spending time in the classroom MUST SIGN IN at the office before going into the classroom.  You will be issued a “Visitor” name badge to be worn during your stay.  Thank you for your cooperation…..

 Just a Reminder to……

Please  send your children to school in clothing that they can easily pull up and down for toileting purposes.  Clothing without belts or snaps is best for them.  It is important for the children to learn to take care of their own toilet time needs and they should have clothing that is easy for them to deal with.  In addition – children should wear sneakers to school for safety purposes on the playground.

Food For Thought

  •  Here are a few strategies you might want to use with your children to bring out the best in them.
  • Smile at them more often.
  • Speak to them respectfully, but firmly.
  • Don’t let them push you around – but don’t push them around either.
  • Choose your battles – don’t make everything an issue.
  • Remove as much temptation as possible, especially if you are having to constantly tell them “no”.
  • Lighten up – keep your sense of humor.
  • Get a backup for the times you just need to give in to sheer exhaustion.
  • Give them some control over their own life and circumstances.
  • Let them make mistakes while they are still as small as the price tags.
  • Remind them again how much you love them.

SAFETY FIRST

For the safety of all concerned, it is extremely important that you do not stand and socialize or let your children play in the parking lot.

DO NOT     let your children run on the handicap ramp.  In addition, please adhere to the following rules:

  • NO PARKING by the rear entrance doors when picking up or dropping off your children as it creates a safety hazard.  There is absolutely NO PARKING under the bridge.  NO DOUBLE PARKING in the rear of Rauner Hall.
  • All vehicles must be in a designated parking space when picking up or dropping off children.
  • Do not leave children unattended in your vehicle.  This is against the law.  We are mandated to report such occurrences to the authorities.
  • PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY through the parking lot or approaching the back parking lot.
  • Children are to be escorted to and from their classrooms – you must walk your child into the building.  Parents are required to come into the building to collect their children at the end of the day.  Children are not permitted to leave the building unescorted.

Please assist me in helping to make our parking area as safe as possible.
